Engineering Focus

What should be confirmed before a trial

Product performance is evaluated together with the resin, equipment, process, part structure and customer test method.

Carrier and resin compatibility
Dispersion and surface appearance
Color matching under the agreed light source
Part thickness and substrate color
Processing temperature
Batch-to-batch confirmation method

Common project problems

Color differs from the target sample

Color specks, streaks or uneven dispersion

Shade changes after processing

Opacity, gloss and dosage are not balanced

Claim boundary: Screen images and color codes are starting references. The final shade must be confirmed on the customer's resin, process and physical sample.

Inquiry & Validation

Information to provide and records to keep

A useful inquiry does not require the customer's confidential formulation. Basic application information is enough to define the first test.

Useful inquiry inputs

  • Base resin and grade
  • Processing method and temperature
  • Physical sample, color chip, Pantone or RAL reference
  • Part thickness and surface finish
  • Current dosage and observed problem
  • Required test or destination-market requirement

Suggested validation records

  • Compare molded or extruded samples, not only pellets
  • Confirm color under an agreed light source
  • Record resin, dosage, temperature and part thickness
  • Approve a physical reference sample before production

FAQ

Questions buyers often ask

These answers define the first discussion. Final suitability is confirmed by model, sample and test conditions.

Can you match a physical sample or color code?

Yes. A physical sample is preferred. Pantone, RAL, a color chip or a product image can support the first discussion, but the final decision should use a trial sample made with the intended resin and process.

Can one color masterbatch be used in every resin?

Not reliably. Carrier compatibility, processing temperature and the appearance target differ between resin systems, so the material direction should be confirmed for the intended substrate.

What information is most useful for color matching?

Provide the resin, process, part thickness, target sample, surface finish, current dosage and any required light-source or color-difference method.
